Hailing from Jaipur, Rajasthan, the 5th-year MBBS student is the only son of an ex-Army family. The critically ill student has been on a ventilator for over a week, prompting support groups to urge the Indian Government to offer necessary aid in the hour of need.

Officials said they are constantly updating the young student’s family, adding that they had participated in a two-hour video call with family members, Indian doctors, Kazakh doctors and university officials to determine how to move forward.
“Today also, another VC has just been concluded wherein Kazakh Neuro surgeon recommended that Rahul should be shifted to Neurology Department for further investigation, incl CT-scan and decice further course of action, rather than continuing the symptomatic treatment, even though the higher risk is involved,” the Indian Embassy disclosed.
Offering another revelation, the authorities said that Rahul’s family had consented to moving him to the Neurology Hospital in Karaganda. Two-family authorised Indian students – Vipin Choudhary and Bhuvan Poonia – are available at hand for supervision.

The All Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) Association has been rallying in support of Rahul, urging the Indian Government to offer information regarding his health. With many opposing the stark silence on the matter, the group further revealed that he is the son of retired soldier Shri Banshidhar Ghosaliya, is suffering from paralysis himself. Indian natives have even pushed for Rahul, who is reportedly a brother to seven sisters, to be air-lifted back to his home country.
