Azerbaijan journalist Anastasia Lavrina came into the limelight after she made a documentary on Kashmir to further the Pakistani agenda. The documentary is titled “Kashmir: The Silent Struggle”. The documentary, per SAMAA TV, claims that Kashmiris want to unite with Pakistan.
She was apparently “hired” by Pakistan to make a documentary against India.
Who is Anastasia Lavrina?
Anastasia Lavrina is a TV presenter, political analyst, and filmmaker from Azerbaijan with nearly a decade of experience in journalism, as per her LinkedIn.
Lavrina holds a Bachelor’s degree in IT Management from Azerbaijan State Economic University. She went on to pursue two Master’s degrees – one in International Relations and Contemporary Politics from Coventry University, and another in Diplomacy and International Affairs from the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
Anastasia Lavrina Career
She started her career in 2011 as an Administrative Assistant at the Baku Education Information Centre. Two years later, she joined Coventry University as a political analyst, where she assisted professors in research, assisted them with academic queries, and even represented the university at conferences and meetings.
Lavrina also worked with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI), where she helped staff organise meetings, press events, and contributed research-based articles about international events for newspaper publications.
In 2014, she returned to the Baku Education Information Centre as an instructor in contemporary politics and international relations.
She further gained hands-on experience through internships at the Parliament of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
The TV anchor then joined Baku-based think tank, The Politicon, before moving to the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF). Over a span of more than four years at IEPF, she rose to become the Head of the International Relations Department.
In 2020, she became involved with the Azerbaijani Community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region and soon after, joined CBC TV as a host and presenter.
She has been serving as the First V-P of the Russian Community of Azerbaijan for nearly six years now.
In 2021, Lavrina had expanded her profile further, becoming a board member of the YAP Youth Union, while also contributing as a political analyst and researcher at the Institute for Development and Diplomacy.
Last September, she joined AnewZ, where she currently presents her talk show “Inside Politics”.
