In a significant escalation of regional tensions, a drone originating from Lebanon struck Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea early Saturday. Netanyahu, undeterred by the attack, vowed to continue Israel’s military campaign, declaring, “We are going to win this war.”
Netanyahu’s remarks came as Israel intensified its operations against Iran-backed militant groups, including Hezbollah. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) recently confirmed the killing of Yahya Sinwar, a senior Hamas leader. Speaking about the strike, Netanyahu emphasized, “Two days ago, we took out Yahya Sinwar, the terrorist mastermind whose goons beheaded our men, raped our women, and burned babies alive. We took him out.”
When asked if anything could deter him from pursuing the war, Netanyahu gave a firm “no.”
The drone attack on the prime minister’s home followed a declaration from Hezbollah, which vowed to escalate hostilities by deploying more guided missiles and explosive drones into Israeli territory. The militant group confirmed that it had launched rockets into northern Israel, including an attack on a military base near Haifa.
In a statement, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a “large salvo” of advanced rockets targeting a military facility east of Haifa. The group promised to intensify its strikes as part of the ongoing conflict, which has escalated since September 23.
Simultaneously, Hezbollah reported launching rockets at the northern Israeli town of Safed, coinciding with an Israeli army report of 115 projectiles fired from Lebanon on the same day. The rocket attacks primarily targeted northern Israel, with sirens sounding across the region at regular intervals.
