US President-elect Donald Trump has addressed the people at Cincinnati in Ohio state on the first leg of a pre-inauguration ‘thank-you’ tour through key battleground states of US elections 2016. Present on the occasion with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, Trump proudly mentioned his victory in the elections. “The bottom line is we won!” a triumphant Trump declared followed by lashing the “dishonest” media and jabbing Ohio Governor John Kasich who refused to support him in the elections. He described a highlight reel of moments on election night, recalling how he had seen how state after state, including Democratic bastions like Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania vote for him and mocked media analysts who said he couldn’t break Clinton’s blue wall. “We didn’t break it, we shattered it!” he said.

While giving his first big speech since election night on Thursday, anyone who thought that Trump would preview a new, soberer and presidential version of himself on 50 days before he takes the oath of office was mistaken, as quoted by CNN. He could not resist breaking his own embargo on the announcement that is coming Monday he will name hard-charging Marine General James Mattis to run the Pentagon. “We are going to appoint Mad Dog Mattis as our secretary of defense,” Trump said, joking with the crowd by saying that they are not announcing it until Monday, so do not tell this anybody.

Speaking on the occasion, he further described the fight with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton “fun”. “We did have a lot of fun fighting Hillary, did not we?” Trump asked, as the crowd uniformly and loudly chanted “Lock her Up! Lock Her Up!” However, referring to Clinton’s email controversy, Trump said that law enforcement officials in his administration might continue investigations into her private email, even though he signaled that he did not prefer to pursue the matter.

Trump further rebuked critics who have criticized him for nominating billionaire businessman Wilbur Ross as Commerce Secretary, according to CNN. In an effort to gain trust of people, he said “The guy knows how to make money, folks.”

At the end, he congratulated the people for voting for him and assured positive changes in future, though he asked people to contribute in it. “Every single day, you will be the agents of change,” he said.
