US President Donald Trump has hailed the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, calling the late-night host a man of “ZERO talent”. Trump celebrated the decision as a victory, claiming it underscored the need for “fairness” in the media.
“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT,” reads Trumps post on Truth Social.
Jimmy Kimmel is an American television host, comedian, writer, and producer best known for hosting the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! since 2003.

ABC suspends show over remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death
ABC suspended the show indefinitely after Kimmel made remarks about the killing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. Nexstar Media Group Inc., which owns ABC affiliates, confirmed it would pull the programme from its stations.
Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division, said Kimmel’s comments had crossed a line. “Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse,” he explained. He added that the remarks did not reflect the “spectrum of opinions, views, or values” of local communities.
As of now, Jimmy Kimmel has remained silent on the controversy. A spokesperson for the comedian did not respond to requests for comment, leaving uncertainty over whether he will issue an apology or defend his words.
What Kimmel said about Charlie Kirk’s death?
During his Monday monologue, Jimmy Kimmel took aim at the political reaction to conservative commentator Charlie Kirk’s killing. He accused right-wing supporters of “desperately trying to portray” the attacker as anything but one of their own, claiming they were “doing everything possible to leverage this for political advantage”.
Kimmel mocked the White House for lowering flags to half-mast in Kirk’s honour, comparing President Biden’s response to “how a toddler grieves for a goldfish”. He went on to declare, “We’ve hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang,” sparking fierce backlash and network suspension.
