An Indian-American influencer, Priya Patel’s call for “America for Americans” has led to massive backlash on X. Patel is known for her strong pro-MAGA views. She posted on X saying, “All I want is an America for Americans… Is that too much to ask?”

One user on X, named James Blunt hit back, questioning her own argument. “Priya, you’re a Patel. By your own standard, how are you American?” he wrote, adding that most Indians in the US arrived through immigration. “Is that too much to ask you to understand?” The exchange on X led to a massive argument on X regarding immigration and identity, with many users calling out what they saw as hypocrisy.

Patel as the Pro-MAGA voice

Patel has previously courted controversy for her views on culture and immigration. Earlier this year, she went viral after saying, “Not all cultures are equal,” arguing that while people may be equal under law and God, cultures should be judged by how well they fit American values. She has also claimed that even legal immigration can be harmful if people fail to assimilate. According to Patel, large-scale immigration allows people to form tight communities that do not blend into American society, changing cities in the process.

‘You wish you were white so bad’

Netizens slammed Patel on X over her comment. A user noted, “You wish you were white sssssoooooooooo bad.” Another added, “If that’s going to be how it is going to be ascertained that 80% of America is made up of Migrants.”

“You’re a Patel” A dead give away that you are Indian,” claimed a user. Foreigners love White America, that’s why they all came here to begin with,” mocked a netizen.

“She is a Patel, yet appears uncomfortable with her own identity. She seems to resent her surname, her skin colour, and by extension India and Indians, and is overcompensating to prove how “American” she is,” claimed a user.
