A man crashed into the White House security gate on Tuesday night (US time), the same day US President Donald Trump hosted Diwali celebrations in the Oval Office. According to the US Secret Service, the driver was immediately arrested. The presidential official schedule indicated that Trump was inside the White House when the incident happened.
Although little is known about the man’s identity as of now, officials have since confirmed to some media representatives in the US that he rammed his vehicle into the barricades at 17th and E NW. A lockdown has since been initiated in the area.
Sharing an image of the incident’s aftermath, Getty Images further reported that a bomb detection robot inspected the car at the White House complex. The Secret Service ultimately deemed the vehicle safe.
Currently available details linked to the gate-crashing incident suggested that the incident took place outside a White House entrance at 10:37 pm local time. A potential motivation behind the crash hasn’t been disclosed yet either.

Merely hours before the crazy security scare, Trump became the centre of attention of a Diwali celebration at the official residence. FBI Director Kash Patel, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, and numerous Indian American business leaders, among others were spotted by the POTUS’ side, as he lit diyas in the Oval Office on Tuesday afternoon.
More information awaited.
