US President Donald Trump has come out strongly in defense of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, criticising the ongoing corruption trial against him as a politically driven attack that is similar to Trump’s legal battles.
In a Truth social post, Trump stated, “It is terrible what they are doing in Israel to Bibi Netanyahu. He is a War Hero and a Prime Minister who did a fabulous job working with the United States to bring Great Success in getting rid of the dangerous Nuclear threat in Iran.’’

Trump calls Netanyahu’s trial a political witch hunt
Trump believes that Netanyahu’s time is being wasted in court for trivial issues, mentioning, “How is it possible that the Prime Minister of Israel can be forced to sit in a courtroom all day long, over NOTHING (Cigars, Bugs Bunny Doll, etc). It is a POLITICAL WITCH HUNT, very similar to the Witch Hunt that I was forced to endure.’’
The US President cautioned that the legal proceedings could endanger high-stakes negotiations that are currently underway. “Importantly, he is right now in the process of negotiating a deal with Hamas, which will include getting the Hostages back,’’ Trump stated. He further added that this distortion of justice could hamper the efforts involving both Iran and Hamas.
Netanyahu’s trial could derail Israel-Hamas talks
Netanyahu’s trial started in 2020, and he has been charged with bribery, breach of trust, and fraud in three separate criminal cases. He has rejected all the allegations.
Tying the matter to US foreign policy, Trump highlighted the extent of American support for Israel. “The United States of America spends Billions of dollars a year, far more than on any other Nation, protecting and supporting Israel. We are not going to stand for this,’’ he wrote.
He concluded his post with a demand to end his trial, and made a direct appeal, “LET BIBI GO, HE’S GOT A BIG JOB TO DO!’’
This marks Trump’s second public statement within days of defending Netanyahu and slamming Israel’s legal action against him.
