A manhunt is underway for 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter, whom authorities have identified as the prime suspect in what have been classified as “politically motivated” shootings. An early morning attack on the 79th birthday of US President Donald Trump resulted in the deaths of Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. Another near-fatal assault on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, left them to fight for their lives after sustaining severe injuries.
Minnesota assassination suspect Vance Boelter caught on security cam
With Hortman and Hoffman’s shooting being about 8 miles apart, a photo released by the FBI on X shows a masked suspect at the door of one of these victims. The accused, now officially identified as Minnesota man Vance Boelter, appears to have impersonated a police officer and put on a latex mask so that cops won’t be able to trace the tragedies back to him. The photos so obtained were presumably caught on a security camera outside the home of his shooting victim.

The images show the suspected Minnesota assassin wearing a vest (possibly a bulletproof one as worn by cops), blue long-sleeve shirt and seemingly a badge — common paraphernalia possessed by law enforcement officials. A vehicle resembling a police car with emergency lights and other such identifiers can also be spotted in the background of the image once you zoom in.

Police responded to Hoffman’s home in Champlin about 2 am in Brooklyn Park. Subsequently, they went to check on Hortman, with her home also located in the area. Bullet holes were discovered on the home’s red front door, said Drew Evans, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension superintendent.
Officer stumbled upon an individuals, reportedly matching this description, at around 3:35 am. The suspect’s instant response to being spotted was opening gunfire at law enforcement. The accused ultimately fled the scene as the hostile exchange of gunshots ensued.
Vance Luther Boelter: FBI’s Most Wanted
Soon after the Saturday shootings made headlines, the FBI named Vance Luther Boelter as one of the agency’s ‘Most Wanted’ in connection with murder. Four separate images of the US man, who is a former Tim Walz-aide, were included in his poster, as the FBI offered a reward of up to $50,000 in exchange of information leading to his arrest and conviction.
Of these four snaps, two are Boelter’s profile pictures. The third one is the aforementioned security cam click that caught the cop poser outside one of the Democrat lawmaker’s residences. Meanwhile, the fourth and final pic shows him wearing a light-coloured cowboy hat along with a “dark-coloured long-sleeve collared shirt or coat, light pants and carrying a dark bag.”
Minnesota Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson also noted hat Vance Boelter is 6-foot-1 tall and has brown hair. “You should consider him armed and dangerous, and you should call 911 immediately,” he added. The Minnesota suspect, who is said to be an avid Donald Trump supporter, is still at large.
