US President Donald Trump reiterated his role as global peacemaker on Sunday — insisting that the ‘threat of tariffs’ had ended multiple conflicts. The POTUS elaborated on his oft-repeated claim of ending multiple wars and insisted that America was currently at its “richest, strongest, and most respected”.

“We are taking in TRILLIONS of Dollars in Tariffs and Investment Dollars from foreign lands because of Tariffs. I have stopped 5 of the eight WARS directly because of the threat of Tariffs if they don’t stop fighting or, better yet, if they start. There is almost no Inflation, and the worst in USA History under Sleepy Joe Biden. The Stock Market just hit an ALL-TIME HIGH for the 48th time in 9 months…” he wrote on Truth Social.

The post is the latest iteration of his frequent claims of ‘fixing’ long-standing conflicts. The POTUS has frequently claimed that he singlehandedly averted nuclear war between India and Pakistan earlier this year. Trump also told newly elected New York mayor Zohran Mamdani on Saturday hat he had “done eight peace deals” with various countries.

‘Solved India-Pakistan conflict’

“I got it done (ceasefire). There are others. If you look at India and Pakistan. I could say almost any one of the deals that I’ve already done I thought would have been more difficult than Russia and Ukraine, but it didn’t work out that way,” President Trump said while interacting with the press on board Air Force One earlier this week.

Ukraine peace in the making?

Efforts to end a ninth war also remain underway — with the US recently proposing a peace deal that would end the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The 28-point plan to end the war was publicised earlier this week and currently remains under consideration. Trump has urged Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept the agreement by November 27. He also indicated on Saturday that this proposal was not his final offer — signalling potential room for adjustments. Kyiv and its European allies have repeatedly stressed that the plan could serve as a foundation for negotiations but required changes.

“He’ll have to like it, and if he doesn’t like it, then you know, they should just keep fighting, I guess. At some point he’s going to have to accept something he hasn’t accepted…You remember right in the Oval Office, not so long ago, I said: You don’t have the cards,” Trump had said earlier on Friday.
