Far-right activist Laura Loomer said that US President Donald Trump has been mulling blocking outsourcing work to Indian IT companies. If implemented, the decision could have a major impact on India, where the IT industry is a major contributor to the economy and heavily depends on outsourcing contracts from American firms. It would also mean job losses in backend, support and technical roles tied to the sector.
‘Make Call Centres American Again!’
“President Trump is now considering blocking US IT companies from outsourcing their work to Indian companies,” she wrote in her post on X (formerly Twitter) that started with the word: “Just In.”
She added that Americans may no longer have to press a number to listen in English when calling customer care. “In other words, you don’t need to press 2 for English anymore,” she further said, before adding, “Make Call Centres American Again!”

Make Call Centers American Again!
Earlier, American activist Jack Posobiec suggested that all “foreign remote workers” should face tariffs, along with all the “outsourcing”.
“Countries must pay for the privilege of providing services remotely to the
US the same way as goods. Apply across industries, levelled as necessary per country,” he added.
White House trade adviser Peter Navarro seemed to endorse this idea, as he reposted his post on X.
In another post, he said, “It’s tariff time,” before saying, “Outsourcing to countries like India contributes to wage and employment suppression for American workers.”
Here’s what social media users have to say:
“Banning outsourcing to Indian companies doesn’t bring jobs home; it accelerates offshoring. Companies will be incentivised to invest directly in Indian operations and fully relocate R&D centres to cut costs legally, pulling even more resources away from the US. Look at history: similar restrictions in the past led to net job exports. Great strategy for accelerating brain drain and losing our tech edge. America First means smart global integration, not isolationism that hands advantages to competitors. Better to reform H-1B for fairness than knee-jerk policies that erode our lead,” said one person.
Another added, “Give those jobs to Americans!”
“Not just call centres. American companies have entire development centres in India and are moving more and more of their jobs there because the labour is cheaper. Cheaper, less efficient, and trying to connect with someone 11.5 hours into the future is an absolute pain in the rear,” commented a third.
Yet another social media user “welcomed” it, saying, “It’s long overdue. US IT workers can’t get jobs. Many Indians with H1Bs take the job and only hire Indians.”
“Good. India has become a bad-faithed ‘ally’ and deserves no help from us anymore…,” read another comment.
