Two of the three people shot at a Dallas ICE detention center this morning are dead, an ICE spokesperson confirmed to NBC. The third person is in the hospital. The shooter is deceased by self-inflicted gunshot.

The incident occurred just before 7am at  the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement office located at 8101 North Stemmons Freeway, near Interstate 35E.

The preliminary investigation determined that a suspect opened fire at a government building from an adjacent building. Two people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One victim died at the scene. The suspect is deceased.”

Joe Rothrock, special agent in charge of the Dallas FBI told NBC that rounds that were found near the suspected shooter, who was dead when police got to the scene, contained messages that were “anti-ICE in nature.”

At least five shell casings were found at the Dallas shooting scene, one of which had “ANTI-ICE” written on it in blue ink, according to a photo of the casings FBI Director Kash Patel shared on X.

Law enforcement officials have launched a search for a potential sniper or additional shooters, though it is still unclear if others were involved in the attack. Authorities later confirmed that one shooter was found dead on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney’s office.

The victims are reported to be in critical condition, but additional details about their identities or the circumstances of the shooting are not yet available.

A heavy police presence remains at the scene, with dozens of law enforcement and emergency vehicles seen in the area, as captured by Texas Department of Transportation cameras along the access road to I-35E.

“Preliminary information is a possible sniper,” Lyons said. “We have three individuals that are down at this time. We’re not sure on their condition. They’ve been taken to the hospital.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem wrote on X, “Details are still emerging, but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities. The motive in the shooting is unknown.”

Vice President JD Vance wrote on X, “The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop. I’m praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families.”
