Conservative activist Laura Loomer launched a personal attack on FBI Director Kash Patel, making a racist comment about his Indian background. In a post on X, she told Patel that Qatar “makes Indians like you slaves,” referring to the Gulf nation’s labour system. She claimed that Qatar’s buildings are “built with Indian slave labour.” Loomer then slammed Patel for not confronting Qatari leaders about labour abuse. She wrote that she once supported him but felt “let down” by his visit to Qatar.

Laura Loomer slams FBI director Kash Patel

Loomer, who was once a strong supporter of Trump’s administration, has recently taken a big U-turn, regularly criticising its latest decisions. Her latest attacks on Patel are part of a long thread in which she accused him of supporting “pro-Islamic terror” interests. This followed Patel’s signing of two new security agreements with Qatar during a recent visit to Doha.

In a post on X, she wrote, “Do you know the Qataris make Indians like you slaves under Kafala? They build their buildings with Indian slave labor. Did you tell the Qataris to stop enslaving your people and funding terrorists?  This is just so shameful. I can’t believe you did this. I advocated for you, and now you’re in Qatar. It’s just such a letdown.”

In her earlier posts, she claimed Patel’s actions would “lead to the Islamification of our country” and put Americans in danger. She accused him of signing MOUs with Qatar’s Ministry of Interior and working with officials who are  “pro-Islamic terror.” She wrote, “Every day, someone else is compromised by Qatar, and ultimately, it’s the American people who are going to pay the price for this shady wheeling and dealing with Qatari terrorists.”

Loomer also said Patel attended a “Qatari-sponsored party” at the Kennedy Centre, using it as further proof, in her view, that he was “uniting with funders of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.” Loomer even claimed, Patel had been paid by the Embassy of Qatar through his consulting firm and that he never filed the required paperwork under US lobbying laws. “Kash Patel is partying with Jihadis. Qatar, in addition to Turkey, is the largest financer of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood,” she wrote.

Loomer was immediately slammed by netizens for her racial attack. Some users claimed that targeting heritage has become her regular habit and called for her to be banned from the platform. Others said that while she is free to criticise the government and its policies, attacking someone’s ethnic background is unacceptable and “disgusting.”

For the unversed, during his Doha trip, Patel signed two memorandums of understanding with Qatari authorities. These deals focused on security cooperation, information sharing, training, and other joint work, according to Qatari state media.

Legal blow to Kash Patel

In another setback, a group of former FBI agents has filed a lawsuit against Patel and the Trump administration. They say they were wrongfully fired for kneeling during a racial-justice protest in Washington in 2020. The case, filed in federal court in Washington, lists nine women and three men, all unnamed, as plaintiffs.

The lawsuit described a moment during a high-tension protest after the killing of George Floyd. The agents said they briefly knelt to calm a crowd that was growing violent. The lawsuit alleged the agents were fired because officials believed they supported Trump’s opponents. George Floyd was a 46-year-old Black man whose death in May 2020 in Minneapolis sparked global protests against police brutality and racism.
