With another season of runDisney events around the corner, Disney is gearing up to host its highly popular series of race weekends at Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California. Set against the backdrop of Disney’s iconic theme parks, these races draw a wide range of participants from seasoned runners to Disney superfans, making it quite difficult for enthusiasts to secure a spot.
Registration for the 2026 Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend opens June 24 at 10 a.m. ET. The event is scheduled for February 26 to March 2, 2026, at Walt Disney World Resort. As participation demand grows each year, Disney officials are advising future registrants to prepare in advance.
“There’s nothing quite like running through EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) theme park as the sun rises,” said a senior official from runDisney’s Sports Development division. “It’s a fun, welcoming environment for runners of all levels.”
How to register for runDisney?
Ahead of the race, officials have given the following tips to future registrants on improving their chances of securing a spot at runDisney:
Step 1: Create an account at runDisney.com ahead of the registration day.
Step 2: Keep your details ready—including pace time, T-shirt size, email, address, and date of birth.
Step 3: Log in a few minutes before the official registration time.
Step 4: Once the ticket sale goes live, select the desired race event and click on “Register Now.”
Step 5: Quickly fill in
Given the fast sell-out rate, officials have also recommended contacting runDisney’s charity partners. These groups often reserve entries for individuals who commit to fundraising efforts for their cause.
As interest continues to grow, early preparation and speed are key to ensuring a spot on the course through the magical Disney parks.
