Thirteen protesters were arrested in downtown Denver on Saturday evening during the ‘No Kings’ protest. A group of protesters, marching west on Sixth Avenue, attempted to access Interstate 25 near Santa Fe Drive around 6:45 PM Denver police declared the march an unlawful assembly and ordered the crowd to disperse via loudspeaker announcements.

After a short delay, officers deployed smoke to scatter the group, arresting three individuals on suspicion of unspecified charges.

A total of nine additional protesters were arrested during other secondary marches, while one person was taken into custody during the main event earlier that day for possession of a knife.

Terroristic threats and arrest in New York

A man from Newark Valley, New York, was arrested on charges of making terroristic threats after allegedly planning to harm federal agents during the “No Kings” protest in New York City.

David Cox, 54, was taken into custody by the NYPD on Saturday afternoon after making a threat to firebomb ICE agents at the protest.

The threat was reported by a gas station employee in Oswego on Friday night, prompting authorities to track Cox’s vehicle to Brooklyn.

He faces charges of making false reports of terrorism and threats of mass harm. Over 100,000 people gathered in New York City, with similar protests occurring across the nation.

Trump dismisses protests as a ‘joke’

President Donald Trump responded dismissively to the nationwide protests, calling them “a joke.” Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump rejected suggestions that he is acting like a monarch, he said, “I’m not a king. That’s all it is. I’m not a king at all.”

He further downplayed the scale and importance of the rallies, claiming they were small, ineffective, and funded by outside groups, including George Soros and other “radical left” organisations.

Trump also criticised the protestors, stating they were “not representative of this country” and labelled their actions as “very small” and “whacked out.”

Meanwhile, organisers reported nearly seven million people attended over 2,600 protests nationwide, as demonstrations spread to Europe, including in Germany, Portugal, Sweden, the UK, and Prague.
