Michelle Obama made a comment about her husband, Barack Obama, hinting at the struggles of balancing politics with parenting.

In her IMO podcast, Michelle seemed to take a swipe at her husband’s dedication to his political career, claiming that it may have affected his role as a father during his time as president.

While talking to NBA legends Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes on her podcast, Michelle gave an offhand remark when the conversation turned to the challenges of balancing family life with a career in politics.

Matt had expressed concern about how politics could affect his role as a father, especially with his young children at home.

Michelle quickly responded, saying, “Politics will suck the life out of that.” she delivered this comment with a quick laugh, seemed to target her husband’s years in the White House, where his presidential duties undoubtedly took up much of his time and attention.

Barack Obama served two terms as President from 2009 to 2017, and the couple raised their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, during that time.

Are the Obamas heading for a divorce?

Michelle’s comment about her husband’s parenting comes at a time when rumors about their marriage have been making headlines.

Speculation about their relationship began when Michelle skipped high-profile events like former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s inauguration.

These absences led to questions about her marriage, and in April, Barack admitted that he was in a “deep deficit” with Michelle, adding fuel to the fire.

Michelle and Barack have repeatedly spoken out about their strong bond regardless of the rumours.

In a recent podcast appearance, Michelle firmly stated, “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man.”

She also added that they have had many good moments and that her marriage has made her a better person.

In July, both Michelle and Barack addressed the rumours together. Michelle said they’ve had “a lot of fun times” and that their relationship had only grown stronger over the years.

Support over the years

Even though the couple have been subject to constant media speculation about their marriage, Michelle and Barack continue to show their love and admiration for each other.

They recently celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary with heartfelt tributes on social media.

Michelle posted a sweet selfie of them together, expressing her love with the caption: “We’ve been on quite the journey over the last 33 years and yet, I love you even more today than the day we said ‘I do.’ Happy anniversary, Barack Obama! I’m so lucky to go through life with you.”

Barack also shared his affection for his wife, writing, “The best decision I ever made was marrying you, @MichelleObama. For 33 years, I have admired your strength, grace, and determination and the fact that you look so good doing it all. Happy anniversary!”
