Who is Sergio Gor?

Sergio Gor has immigrant roots and a remarkable journey to American politics and power. Gor was born as Sergey Gorokhovsky on November 30, 1986, in Tashkent, which was then part of the Soviet Union. In 1994, he moved with his family to Malta and later, in 1999, to Los Angeles. He grew up mastering multiple langauges and attended De La Salle College in Malta. He completed his higher education in the United States. Gor studies Political Science and International Affairs at George Washington University. He was pretty much engaged in conservative politics from the very start and later even founded the university’s chapter of the Young America’s Foundation. Rising as a Republican rank came handy to him given his portfolio.

After graduation, Gor pursued his ambitions on Capitol Hill. Following earlier stints, such as mocking Barack Obama’s ties to ACORN, young Gor became a spokesman for Republican figures like Steve King and Michele Bachmann. He later joined Senator Rand Paul’s political action committee (RANDPAC) and served for years as the senator’s deputy chief of staff and senior political advisor.

In 2020 Gor joined the Trump Victory Finance Committee. He co-founded Winning Team Publishing and managed major fundraising and political initiatives. He was also leading Right for America, a pro-Trump political action committee.

In 2025, Gor became the Director of the Presidential Personnel Office under the Trump administration. During his tenure he clashed with multiple high-profile figures, including Elon Musk. On August 22, 2025, President Trump announced Gor’s nomination as US Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.
