President Donald Trump brushed aside renewed questions about Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday, following the release of a Department of Justice (DOJ) memo that concluded the disgraced financier died by suicide and did not maintain a “client list.” The memo’s findings have sparked backlash among Trump’s staunchest supporters, some of whom accuse the government of covering up the truth.

“Are people still talking about this guy?”

Trump’s comments came during a press conference, where a reporter directed a question about Epstein to US Attorney General Pam Bondi. The president cut in and asked, “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years,” Trump said, referring to Epstein as “this creep” and expressing disbelief that the topic was still being discussed. He criticised the timing of the question as US is facing major tragedies including Texas floods.

“I mean, I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this, where we’re having some of the greatest success, and also tragedy, with what happened in Texas,” Trump added. “It just seems like a desecration.”

MAGA supporters lash out over memo

Despite Trump’s dismissal, several prominent figures within the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement voiced strong opposition to the DOJ memo. The document, which was the result of a joint investigation by the DOJ and FBI, reaffirmed that Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while in federal custody and rejected the existence of a so-called “client list” often discussed in conspiracy circles.

Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones slammed the findings, calling the memo “over the top sickening” and even claiming that the DOJ’s next move might be to assert that Epstein “never even existed.”

Laura Loomer, a controversial right-wing activist and Trump supporter, demanded Bondi’s resignation. In a radio interview, Loomer accused the attorney general of prioritizing media appearances over accountability, calling her “another Fox News Barbie.”

MAGA supporters on social media lashed out over the memo. A user said, “Makes him look MORE guilty.” Another noted,” Yeah, it’s hilarious because in his completely deranged mush-brain mental state he actually thinks comments like this are helping him when in reality it just seals the deal that he’s definitely a huge part of the files.” Do NOT stop talking about Epstein. It rattles him. Do not let go of this,” claimed another user. “Epstein was arrested on Trumps watch. Died under Trumps watch. And the coverup on Trumps watch. Please explain,” noted a user.b
