Eric Trump recently shared some candid thoughts about his younger brother Barron, revealing the one thing that still gets under his skin, Barron’s towering height.
While Eric, who stands at 6’5, once held the title of the tallest in the family, Barron’s growth spurt during his teenage years has now made him the “runt” of the Trump clan.
‘Tough as hell’
In his appearance on the PBD Podcast, Eric Trump spoke with admiration about his younger brother, calling Barron “tough as hell,” “vicious as hell,” and a “great friend.”
However, the 41-year-old could not help but express some sibling envy, revealing that Barron’s height had an impact on their dynamic.
While Eric was once the tallest in the family, Barron outgrew him by the age of 15, leaving Eric feeling somewhat overshadowed.
“I used to be the tall guy in the family and now I’m the runt,” Eric said adding that when they stood back to back, Barron was a quarter of an inch taller.
As the family’s towering figure, Barron, now 6’9, has become the subject of jokes and friendly rivalry. Eric joked that it “pisses him off” and teased that he was no longer the tallest in the family.
While Eric may have his own theories about Barron’s height, their father, President Donald Trump, has previously offered his own explanation.
Trump on Barron’s height
During a past public appearance, Donald joked that Barron’s height could be credited to his grandmother, Amalija Knavs, Melania Trump’s mother. “That’s how he got so tall, he only ate her food,” Trump said
In fact, Eric once encouraged his younger brother to pursue basketball, given his extraordinary height.
“I said, ‘You’re gonna be a basketball player,’” Eric recalled. “But he said, ‘I like soccer, Dad.’” Despite his father’s suggestion, Barron stuck with soccer, much to Donald’s surprise.
As Eric jokingly noted, “At your height, I would like basketball better,” though he quickly added that you can’t always persuade someone to follow your dreams.
