A gunman shot four teenagers in the Bronx Friday, August 22 (US time), as per local authorities. The victims included a 14-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy, another 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy.
As reported by the New York Post, the suspected shooter fled the scene after a brawl devolved into a shooting incident in New York City. The one responsible for the near-fatal development opened gunfire around 4 pm (local time) on Overing Street in Westchester Square. The situation is said to have gone from bad to worse after a large group of youngsters became violent, according to police.

Given that the victims are underage, authorities haven’t revealed their names yet. The investigation surrounding the incident is also in its preliminary stages.
What we do know is that among those injured, a 13-year-old boy was shot in the left leg, a 14-year-old boy grappled with a graze wound to his right foot, and a 15-year-old boy grazed in both legs. Authorities also divulged that thee 14-year-old girl suffering from injuries was also hit in the left leg.
They were taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

As of now, police have revealed that there was only one shooter was responsible for the escalation of the broad-daylight violence. While The Post‘s reports suggests that the man fled on foot, ABC 7 stated that authorities on the lookout for a gray vehicle that left the scene. At the time of writing, the man involved hadn’t been identified. Officials have yet to make any arrest.
Investigators are trying to find out what caused the clash between the group, ultimately leading to near-fatalities.
“It’s not the first or second time. There were two last week, the children over there on the corner,” said a neighbour who was outside at the time of the incident. The individual also claims to have heard about 4 to 5 gunshots. Speaking out gun violence, she further insisted that some young people have been engaging in heated confrontations at a nearby park.
