Contrary to National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard’s beliefs about “Islamist ideology” being a “direct threat” to freedom, Tucker Carlson’s clashing views on the matter ignited another MAGA civil war online this past week. As it turns out, his fellow conservative “friend” Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG), who recently announced her resignation from US Congress, has now publicly spoken out in his defence.

Although not exactly a fresh development, the conservative MAGA camp has been split into sub-factions. Accounts from the recent past stand testament to how commentary surrounding white nationalist influencer Nick Fuentes, the Epstein Files and the Israel war, among other things, has seen members of the supposedly same group engaging in a war of words.

Marjorie Taylor Greene defends Tucker Carlson

Greene, who’s widely known for her staunch support (alongside Tucker) of the ‘America First‘ approach, took aim at all those people giving Carlson flak for his recently made remarks about “radical Islam” during an interview. Prominent MAGA figures like Laura Loomer also joined in on the Tucker Carlson hate train this week.

Consequently, MTG took to her official X profile to settle the matter and voice her two cents on it. She branded all those who targeted Carlson ‘America Last’ regardless of their political affiliation.

“I’ve seen a bunch of America Last accounts attacking Tucker so I’m making it clear that I’m proudly friends with Tucker Carlson,” Greene wrote on X. “He is a man of sincere faith, loves his family, and our country. America First is winning.”

With an out-and-out public feud with US President Donald Trump spiralling into her recent resignation, Marjorie Taylor Greene signed off her latest tweet with the MAGA leader’s signature catchphrase. “Thank you for your attention to this matter,” she concluded.

Laura Loomer hits back as MAGA feud intensifies

Far-right and anti-Muslim influencer Laura Loomer hit out against Tucker Carlson and MTG in a series of X post. In one of those posted just today, she branded the former Fox host a “huge liability for the Trump administration.”

“Deputy Assistant to the President & Senior Director for Counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka @SebGorka is calling out @TuckerCarlson for his blatant lie that Islamic terrorism hasn’t killed any Americans since 9/11,” she said on X.

In yet another scathing statement, Loomer wrote on X, “You have no idea how many powerful people have tried to threaten me to stop talking about @TuckerCarlson’s ties to Islam. I was the first person to identify the Islamic influence that has completely warped the mind of Tucker Carlson, and I have been warning everyone about this for a very long time.”

“I came up with the name Tucker Qatarlson, and I made his controversy surrounding Qatar go completely mainstream. Now, @TuckerCarlson is denying that Islamic terrorism has resulted in the murder of a single American citizen since 9/11, which is an egregious lie. I hope everyone realizes how right I was. I guess Tucker forgot how we kicked off January 1, 2025 with an ISIS terror attack in New Orleans. I called it. Now everyone is realizing Loomer was right.”

Responding to Greene’s post for her “friend” Carlson, Loomer said, “Marjorie Traitor Greene says you are ‘America Last’ if you dare to challenge Tucker QATARLSON’S absurd and false claim that no American citizens have been killed by Islamic terrorism since 9/11. If he’s a man of faith & country, why is he running cover for Islamic terrorists?”

What Tucker Carlson said about ‘radical Islam’

In an interview with ‘The American Conservative’ published Friday (US time), the former Fox News host suggested that fears fuelled by “radical Islam” in the United States has been blown out of proportion.

During the podcast appearance, Carlson asserted, “I don’t know anyone in the United States in the last 24 years who’s been killed by radical Islam.” His remarks were a response to Harrison Berger’s allusion to a poll the Turning Point USA conducted during the December AmFest.

Here’s what Berger said: “TPUSA did a poll during AmFest in which they asked the audience what they considered to be the greatest threat to America. They did put ‘radical Islam’ at number one. I’m wondering where you think those sentiments are coming from. I’ve heard you say before that this is ‘an op’ and that ‘we all know which foreign government it’s actually coming from.’ Which government is it and can you explain how that operation works? How is it laundered into our discourse?”

And then, Carlson pushed that such ideas come from the “Israeli government and its many defenders and informal employees in the United States.” Although admitting to not knowing how many people responded to the poll, the ex-Fox personality said that he was more about “measuring reality a little more empirically.”

He then argued that instead of ‘radical Islam’ killing people, he knew about many others who had killed themselves, including those who died of drug overdose. Painting an unlikely comparison between ‘radical Islam’ and OnlyFans, he continued, “I know people who can’t get jobs. None of the boys in my daughter’s class can get jobs, none of those white boys can get jobs. They’re being destroyed by Adderall and video games and porn.”

“I see millions of Americans being destroyed, and none of it is at the hands of radical Islam. Is radical Islam more dangerous than OnlyFans? It’s not even close. Turning some huge percentage of American women into prostitutes? That’s not radical Islam doing that, actually.”

As far as Carlson is concerned, such claims about Islam don’t “reflect the lived reality of anyone (he’s) ever met in the United States,” regardless of the other MAGA supporters and members saying otherwise.
