Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit India by the end of 2025 amid a turbulent geopolitical landscape. The visit was confirmed by the Kremlin in May and effort remain underway to finalise the exact dates of the trip.
Visit in end-August?
An update by Interfax news agency had initially quoted Indian national security adviser Ajit Doval to suggest that Putin would visit India in late August. The report was later updated to confirm his visit “by the end of the year”. A meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Russian counterpart however remains in the cards for August — with both leaders slated to participate in the SCO Summit in China.
“We have got a special, long relationship, and we value this relationship. We have had high-level engagement, and these high-level engagements have contributed very substantially. We are very excited and delighted to learn about the visit of President Putin to India. I think the dates are almost finalised now,” reports quoted the NSA as saying.
