Russia Ukraine War April 6 Latest News:  Authorities in the eastern Ukrainian region of Luhansk urged the people to get out “while it is safe.” The administration is hoping to evacuate civilians through five “humanitarian corridors” today. Meanwhile, the United States and its allies on Wednesday prepared new sanctions on Moscow over alleged killings of civilians which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy described as “war crimes”, reported Reuters. On the other hand, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday said that there is a contraction of 15 percent in the Russian economy and private sector businesses are pulling out of the country, which is making it more and more difficult for President Putin to fund the war every single day. Meanwhile, the White House is planning another set of sanctions on Russia. This is likely to be announced on Wednesday. Pskai said that an additional sweeping package of sanction measures will impose costs on Russia, and send it further down the road of economic, financial, and technological isolation.

At the same time, Psaki reiterated that the United States is not calling for regime change. She said that US’ view is that Putin is a war criminal and he should be looked at by the international system which evaluates war crimes, reported Reuters.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had earlier called the scenes outside Kyiv as a “stage-managed anti-Russian provocation.” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had said the images contained “signs of video forgery and various fakes.”
