Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be travelling to Ukraine’s Kyiv in August, several media reports have said citing sources. This will be the first time PM Modi will be going to Ukraine since the Russian invasion of the country in 2022.

Earlier, the Prime Minister and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Italy.

As per reports, the visit is still in the planning stages and could take place in August third week. During this trip, PM Modi will hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Prime MInister Modi in Russia

Last month, PM Modi visited Russia where he met with President Valdimir Putin. During the visit, Zelenskyy had expressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia was a huge disappointment and a devastating blow to peace efforts.

If the visit occurs, it will be the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Ukraine since its independence following the breakup of the Soviet Union.

Neither the Indian nor Ukrainian side has released an official statement on the visit.
