US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (July 22) hinted at a possible visit to China for talks with President Xi Jinping. Speaking at the White House during a meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, Trump said, “President Xi has invited me to China, and we’ll probably be doing that in the not-too-distant future.”

While he didn’t confirm a date, Trump noted that the trip is “a little bit out, but not too distant”, suggesting diplomatic engagement between the two powers could be on the horizon.
