Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday firmly asserted that there is a need to expose elements spreading uncertainty and instability in the country, according to ARY News.
His comments came amid ongoing political turmoil in the country. The opposition is repeatedly calling for re-elections in Pakistan; citing rigging as a reason.
PM Sharif stated that the government, as well as the Pakistan Muslim League (N), must pay attention to evolving an adequate strategy to bring down the organised campaign against the government, state, and national security institutions.
It is pertinent to mention here that recently, a senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and politician, Javed Latif, voiced a strong dislike for the present Shehbaz Sharif-led administration. Latif claimed that it was the result of an “arrangement.”
Javed Latif demanded a comparison of the achievements and performance of Nawaz Sharif (President of PML-N) and Imran Khan (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party founder).
Shehbaz Sharif is presently serving as the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan. He took political reins of the country in March 2024. Previously also he had served in the post from April 2022 to August 2023.
In the national elections, with 75 seats, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) came second. With 54 seats, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) secured third place. After Imran Khan refused to join hands with any rival party, the PML-N and PPP agreed to form a coalition government with smaller parties in Pakistan.
