Epstein Case: US President Donald Trump lashed out at critics of Attorney General Pam Bondi and claimed that the controversial “Epstein Files” were fabricated by political opponents, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, James Comey, and John Brennan. The statement comes amid mounting anger within the MAGA base over the Justice Department’s memo, which concluded there was no evidence of a Jeffrey Epstein “client list” or foul play in his death.
Trump says Obama, Hillary wrote Epstein files
Trump likened the Epstein memo to previous investigations he has dismissed as hoaxes, including the Steele dossier and the Russia probe. “Why are we giving publicity to files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the losers and criminals of the Biden administration?” Trump wrote, accusing Democrats of manufacturing the Epstein narrative to discredit him and derail the MAGA movement.
He further claimed the documents were “fake” and compared them to unsubstantiated conspiracy theories, adding: “They haven’t even given up on the John F Kennedy or Martin Luther King, Jr files.”
Trump defends Pam Bondi amid MAGA backlash
Trump came out strongly in defence of Pam Bondi, the Attorney General at the centre of conservative fury over the DOJ’s findings. “She’s doing a FANTASTIC JOB,” he wrote. “We’re on one team — MAGA — and I don’t like what’s happening. Selfish people are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies — Jeffrey Epstein.”
Right-wing figures such as Laura Loomer, Steve Bannon, and Tucker Carlson have openly criticised Bondi, with Carlson accusing her of covering up “very serious crimes.” However, Trump insisted she was being unfairly targeted by elements within his own base.
‘Forget Epstein, focus on 2020 fraud: Trump tells Kash Patel
In his post, Trump also called on FBI Director Kash Patel to stop spending resources on the Epstein case and instead focus on what he called the “rigged and stolen” 2020 election. “Kash Patel and the FBI must be focused on voter fraud, political corruption, and arresting thugs and criminals,” he wrote.
Trump attempted to redirect attention to his administration’s achievements, from border security to foreign policy, asserting: “We are about to achieve more in six months than any other administration has achieved in 100 years.”
Despite backing Bondi publicly, sources say Trump’s support could change if internal dissent continues to grow. Some of his allies have already begun privately urging prominent critics to tone down their attacks.
Trump closed his message with a warning to MAGA loyalists not to be distracted: “Let’s not waste time and energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about. LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!”
