The armed wing of Hamas, al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for launching a “big missile” attack on Tel Aviv on Sunday, triggering sirens across the central city.
In a statement on its Telegram channel, al-Qassam Brigades said the rockets were in retaliation for what it described as “Zionist massacres against civilians.” Hamas Al-Aqsa TV confirmed the rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip.
This marks the first time in four months that rocket sirens were heard in Tel Aviv. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the cause of the sirens.
Israeli emergency medical services reported no casualties from the attack. The incident highlights Hamas’ continued capability to launch long-range rockets despite a prolonged and intense Israeli military offensive over the past seven months.
