China’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that around 500 Chinese nationals have safely left Israel, and all who wished to evacuate have been successfully transferred to secure regions amid the escalating Israel–Iran conflict.

North Korea strongly condemned the US strikes on Iran, calling them a serious breach of Iran’s sovereignty and security. Pyongyang accused the US and Israel of escalating tensions in the Middle East and urged the international community to unite against their “confrontational behavior.” The Foreign Ministry warned that America’s aggressive actions would further destabilise the region and hinder diplomatic solutions.

Ten Iranian Revolutionary Guards were killed on Sunday after Israeli airstrikes hit Iran’s Yazd province, according to reports by Tasnim News.

Araghchi noted that both nations would strive to strengthen their positions together to confront regional and international pressures in the coming period.

Malaysia urged all sides to show restraint after US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites. Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan called for de-escalation, and PM Anwar Ibrahim warned that closing the Strait of Hormuz would seriously harm the global economy.

India has dismissed as “fake” social media claims that US fighter jets crossed Indian airspace to hit Iranian targets during “Operation Midnight Hammer.”

Early Sunday, the US struck three Iranian nuclear sites. Rumors on X alleged India allowed US aircraft passage, but the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check unit denied this. “Indian Airspace was NOT used by the United States,” it clarified.

PIB added that US Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. Dan Caine had publicly explained the actual route used by American jets. The Indian government’s quick denial aims to prevent misinformation and reassure the public about its neutrality.

He said Iran’s 60% uranium enrichment could only serve a weapons programme and stressed the world had agreed Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb. Albanese added that if Iran had accepted International Atomic Energy Agency conditions earlier, the current tensions and strikes could have been avoided.

Israel’s military confirmed that missiles have been launched from Iran toward Israel, raising fears of a significant regional escalation.

Acting US Ambassador Dorothy Shea warned the UN Security Council that any Iranian attack on Americans would face devastating retaliation. She urged Iran to end its nuclear programme, cease threats against Israel and US interests, and negotiate peace in good faith.

Iran’s air defences are intercepting “hostile targets” over Tehran and Karaj, Nour News reports, as tensions escalate and residents brace for further aerial threats across the capital and nearby areas.

Israeli airstrikes have hit Parchin, a major Iranian military complex southeast of Tehran, according to Nournews. The attack raises tensions as regional fears of further escalation continue to grow.

According to local media reports quoting Iranian officials, nine security personnel were killed on Sunday as Israeli forces struck two military sites in the central province of Yazd. This included seven Iranian Revolutionary Guards and two soldiers.

“Beginning tomorrow, Monday, June 23, 2025, both incoming and outgoing flights will resume at Ben Gurion Airport, marking a significant step toward the gradual restoration of routine international travel,” the Israeli Airport Authority said in a statement.

The State Department has doubled the number of emergency evacuation flights it is providing for American citizens wishing to leave Israel, ordered the departure of nonessential staff from the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon and is stepping up travel warnings around the Middle East amid concerns Iran will retaliate against U.S. interests in the region.

In internal and public notices, the department over the weekend significantly ramped up its cautionary advice to Americans in the Mideast.

In a notice on Sunday, after American strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities, the department said it had ordered nonessential personnel and the families of staff at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut to leave Lebanon “due to the volatile and unpredictable security situation in the region.”

The notice made no mention of any potential evacuation flights or other assistance for private Americans wanting to leave Lebanon but said those who want to should try to use existing commercial services to depart.

At the same time, the department issued warnings to U.S. citizens in Saudi Arabia and Turkey to take extra security precautions given the uncertainty.

Lebanon-based Hezbollah issued a strongly worded statement condemning the “barbaric and treacherous” US attack and called it a blatant violation of international law. The group also warned that the “un-calculated” attack could drag the region and the world into chaos if not stopped.

“The attack exposes the true face of the United States as the greatest threat to regional and global stability,” Al Jazeera quoted the statement as saying.

It also accused Washington of acting as “the official sponsor of terrorism” and attempting to compensate for Israel’s failure to halt Iran’s missile response.
