The Israeli military has announced that it killed four senior Iranian intelligence officials, including the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organisation.

In a significant first, Israel has officially deployed its cutting-edge Barak Magen air defence system, developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for the Israeli Navy. The system marks a leap in naval defense capability, offering multi-layered protection against a range of aerial threats including missiles, drones, and enemy aircraft.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun called for immediate steps to reduce tensions in the Middle East, urging all parties to avoid further escalation. “We urge all parties to… prevent the region from falling into greater turmoil,” he said, stressing the need to return to dialogue and peaceful negotiations.

Amid escalating conflict with Israel, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared, “We have never been, nor are we, aggressors,” emphasising Iran’s unity and strength against “brutal criminals.” In a stern warning, he added, “You will regret it,” signalling Iran’s resolve.

Indian authorities have advised all Indian nationals, regardless of visa category, to evacuate Tehran immediately. Reports state that no foreign nationals, including spouses or partners, will be permitted to accompany them. The directive comes amid rising tensions in the region, prioritising the safety of Indian citizens in Iran’s capital.

The Israel-Iran conflict has sparked a fuel crisis in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, where many petrol stations rely on smuggled Iranian fuel. Since Sunday, numerous stations have shut down, leaving hundreds of vehicle owners stranded. Panic has spread as fuel shortages intensify across the region bordering Iran and Afghanistan.

The Israeli Air Force killed Iranian surface-to-air missile troops moments before they could activate a launcher south of Tehran, according to the IDF. The launcher was also dismantled. Israel said the operation is part of its continued efforts to maintain air superiority across Iran.

Iranian missiles struck near the US embassy branch in Tel Aviv, causing minor damage but no injuries, according to US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. The strikes prompted the closure of both the US embassy and consulate in Israel on Monday.

“There was some minor damage from concussions, but all US personnel are safe,” Huckabee confirmed.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that Israeli Air Force jets struck multiple command centres belonging to the Quds Force, the elite external operations wing of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

“In these command centres, Quds operatives advanced terrorist attacks against the State of Israel using Iranian regime proxies across the Middle East,” an IDF spokesperson stated.

A video released by the military showed ten targets allegedly hit in Tehran, including military and intelligence facilities.

The Quds Force, formed during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s, is known for orchestrating Iran’s foreign operations and supporting groups like Hezbollah and Hamas.

The strikes follow the killing of IRGC commander Hossein Salami in Israeli air raids on Friday. He has since been replaced by General Ahmed Vahidi.

Four people were killed in central Israel in the latest wave of Iranian missile attacks, Israel’s emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed. Three deaths were reported in Petah Tikva and one in Bnei Brak. The strikes hit multiple residential areas, injuring dozens. MDA responded to four impacted locations, with many victims rushed to hospitals. The death toll in Israel has now reached 18 since the conflict escalated on Friday. In Iran, at least 224 people have died and over 1,200 have been hospitalized, according to the country’s health ministry.

Iran has officially responded to India’s urgent request for the evacuation of Indian students caught in conflict-hit regions, stating that while airspace remains closed, all land borders are open for safe civilian passage. Tehran’s assurance comes amid intensifying Israeli strikes targeting Iran.

Indian embassy issues advisory to stranded citizens
India’s Embassy in Tehran has advised its citizens to remain calm and exercise caution. It urged students and other nationals to avoid unnecessary movement, follow safety guidelines, and stay updated via the embassy’s social media handles.

Thousands of Indian students remain stranded in cities like Tehran, with many pleading for a temporary halt in hostilities so air evacuations can proceed. The embassy has provided a Google form for those in Iran to register and a Telegram link for real-time updates, stressing the importance of staying connected and alert.

As Israel reportedly targets the Fordow nuclear site near Qom, Iran’s National Seismological Center has recorded a 2.5 magnitude seismic event in the area, raising speculation about potential strikes or underground disturbances.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference President Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday voiced deep concern over reports that an Israeli airstrike hit a hostel in Iran housing Kashmiri students, leaving several injured.

Taking to X, Mirwaiz said, “Fortunately, only minor injuries have been reported,” but noted the grave psychological toll. He highlighted that over 1,300 Kashmiri students are studying in Iran and now live in fear, while their families in Jammu and Kashmir remain deeply anguished. Many are enrolled at Shahid Beheshti University and Iran University of Medical Science.

Mirwaiz urgently appealed to the Indian government to ensure their safety and immediate evacuation.

Iranian state media has confirmed that IRGC intelligence chief Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi and his deputy Hassan Mohaqiq were killed in an Israeli strike, according to The Times of Israel.

A third senior officer, Mohsen Bagheri, also died in the attack, which marks a significant escalation amid ongoing hostilities between Iran and Israel.

As Israel and Iran exchange relentless missile strikes, hundreds of Indian students in Iran are calling for urgent evacuation. Most hail from Jammu and Kashmir and study at institutions like Shahid Beheshti University and Iran University of Medical Sciences.

“We woke up at 2:30 am to deafening blasts and ran to the basement. We haven’t slept since,” said Imtisal Mohidin, a third-year MBBS student. With explosions reported dangerously close to student accommodations, panic is growing.

Imtisal says over 350 Indians are at his university alone. The students are now pleading with the Indian government: “Evacuate us before it’s too late.”
