The Trump administration announced plans to accept a Boeing 747-8 aircraft, a gift from the Qatari royal family on Monday, May 12. Valued at nearly $400 million, the luxurious jet is set to be transferred to the U.S. Air Force and eventually to the Trump Presidential Library. In a post on Truth Social, Trump commented, “So the fact that the Defense Department is receiving a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE, in the form of a 747 to temporarily replace the 40-year-old Air Force One, in a completely transparent and public transaction, bothers the Crooked Democrats so much that they want us to pay TOP DOLLAR for the plane.”

What is inside the $400 million Boeing jet ?

Valued at over $400 million, the aircraft is one of the most luxurious private planes ever constructed and is expected to serve as Trump’s primary mode of long-distance travel. Originally part of the Qatar Amiri Flight fleet and registered as A7-HBJ, the jet was delivered in 2012 and used exclusively by the Qatari ruling elite. It later underwent a multi-year interior transformation by Swiss aviation specialists AMAC Aerospace, converting the commercial airliner into a flying palace.

The jet features seating for just 90 passengers and 14 crew members—down from over 400 in its commercial variant. The rest of the aircraft is dedicated to ultra-luxury amenities, including five lounge areas, a spiral staircase, a full master suite with a private en-suite bathroom, and 11 bathrooms adorned with gold fittings, heated floors, and marble finishes. It also includes five fully functional kitchens. Advanced onboard technology includes a custom-built entertainment system by PGA, featuring 40 high-resolution displays, multiple Blu-ray players, and Audio/Video On Demand (AVOD) capabilities. Dual high-speed satellite systems—Panasonic’s Ku-band and Honeywell’s JetWave Ka-band—enable continuous global connectivity.

The aircraft also comes equipped with a multi-zone noise insulation system, averaging just 50–52 decibels during flight, as well as a humidified air system and specialized potable water distribution across all cabins. For security, the jet features high-definition surveillance cameras, motion sensors, and anti-intrusion systems. Flight data shows the aircraft departed Doha on March 30, stopping in Paris and Bangor, Maine, before landing in San Antonio, Texas, on April 3. It currently remains in a secure hangar, where U.S. defense contractor L3Harris is completing the final phase of retrofitting—installing presidential-grade communication and security systems. Once complete, the 747-8 will be the longest (76 meters), fastest (650 mph), and longest-range (8,886 miles) aircraft to serve as Air Force One. With delays in the U.S. government’s next-generation presidential fleet, this jet is expected to temporarily assume that role for Trump.

” Stunningly corrupt “

Internet quickly reacted to the inside view of the jet. A user noted, “This is an example interior of a privately owned Boeing 747 – this is what the inside of Trump’s luxury flying palace gift from Qatar might look like Stunningly corrupt.” Another noted, “This is by far the funniest thing to watch MAGA try to justify. As if they wouldn’t be burning buildings down if Biden accepted a similar offer.” A netizen claimed, “This is not an Air Force One, it’s a flying penthouse. It will never match Air Force One for security.” “It’s being called a flying palace. I am sure it will meet the President’s requirements “the $400 million aircraft has at least three lounges, two bedrooms, nine bathrooms, five galleys, a private office, and enough business class seating to accommodate dozens of guests,” added a user.
