Gaza Peace Summit 2025 LIVE: Trump signs truce deal with mediators, says phase two of peace plan has ‘already started’

Mediators Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, as well as US President Donald Trump, have just signed the document on the Gaza ceasefire deal. The document was signed during the international summit hosted by Egypt in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh on the deal.

According to an AP update, Trump to urge leaders to ‘put the old feuds’ to rest and seize momentum during his address. He will also call the Gaza deal ‘first steps’ to peace.

Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held a meeting with top leaders on Monday to help coordinate the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire and reconstruction efforts. According to a statement by his office, the presidents of France and Turkey, and Qatar’s emir were present.

The POTUS said that phase two of his 20-point ceasefire plan to end the war between Israel and Hamas had “already started”.

“It started, as far as we’re concerned…And you know, the phases are all a little bit mixed in with each other,” he said.

The Red Cross is reportedly on its way to a meeting point in southern Gaza for the transfer of deceased hostages. A joint statement from the Israeli military and Shin Bet security agency said “several coffins of deceased hostages” will be transferred from Hamas custody.

The military wing of Hamas — the Al-Qassam Brigades — had earlier released the names of four deceased hostages whose bodies it says will be handed over. They are: Daniel Peretz, Yossi Sharabi, Guy Illouz and Bipin Joshi.

Despite his delayed arrival, the summit is anticipated to draw international attention, with leaders from over 20 countries attending to support Trump’s Gaza peace plan.

“So now we’re going to forge a future that is worthy of our heritage. We’re going to build a legacy that all the people of this region can be proud of,” the US president said.

“New bonds of friendship, cooperation and commerce will join Tel Aviv to Dubai, Haifa to Beirut, Jerusalem to Damascus and from Israel to Egypt, from Saudi Arabia to Qatar, from India to Pakistan, from Indonesia to Iraq, from Syria to Bahrain, Turkey to Jordan, the United Arab Emirates to Oman and Armenia to Azerbaijan,” he added.

Donald Trump has urged Israeli President Isaac Herzog to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on trial for alleged corruption.

Speaking before Israel’s parliament on Monday, Trump said: “Cigars and some champagne — who the hell cares?” referring to the fraud charges Netanyahu faces, which he denies.

As reported by IDF on their X account, in the past few minutes, returning hostages Nimrod Cohen, Yosef-Chaim Ohana, and Bar Kupershtein were airlifted by IAF helicopters to hospitals, accompanied by their family members.

They have completed an initial medical evaluation and are now en route to hospitals, where they will reunite with the rest of their families and continue receiving medical care.

The release of hostages and Palestinian detainees was pivotal to the first phase of the Gaza accord concluded last week in the Egyptian seaside resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, where Monday’s summit will take place.

Aid supplies are meant to flow better under the ceasefire plan. U.N. aid chief Tom Fletcher underlined the need to “get shelter and fuel to people who desperately need it and to massively scale up the food and medicine and other supplies going in.”
