There have been a lot of interesting things that are being shared on the internet. From funny cat videos to motivating TEDx videos, all going viral for some of the other reason, however, there is a man from Ghana and he is going viral for all the right reasons. Richard Appiah Akoto is a teacher in Ghana and goes by the nickname Owura Kwadwo Hottish on Facebook. His post on the social media platform has fetched more than 2 thousand shares and attention of various media houses across the globe – reason? Akoto is teaching his students the basics of computers, but the catch is he is teaching them without any computers.

In his post, Akoto has shred pictures in which he has drawn the Microsoft Word application, as seen on Windows OS, on a blackboard. He is seen teaching his students the basics of the application via a blackboard. His spirit and zeal to teach his student can be seen in his post. Akoto writes: “Teaching of ICT in Ghana’s school is very funny. ICT on the board paa. Soon enough, his Facebook post got traction and attention from world over. Netizens made his post viral and appriciated his efforts. As Atoko’s post went viral, Microsoft Africa shared a wonderful tweet, lending a helping hand to the Akoto and his school. The tweet from Microsoft Africa read: “Supporting teachers to enable digital transformation in education is at the core of what we do. We will equip Owura Kwadwo with a device from one of our partners, and access to our MCE program & free professional development resources on http://education.microsoft.com”

More about Akoto: As reported by Quartz Africa, the 33 year old is a information and communication technology (ICT) teacher in a Junior High School which is in the small town of Sekyedomase. Since 2011, his school has not seen a computer and student are required to pass the examinations with ICT as a subject.
