Victim’s account of the incident
The woman, Meena Kumar, said she boarded the auto from Jalandhar Bypass Chowk heading to Phillaur. One of the accused was driving while two others sat in the back posing as passengers. She explained that one of them asked the driver to stop for a nature call, and as she boarded, the accused pushed her in between them. They tried to tie her hands with a dupatta to snatch her phone, but she resisted, according to a report by Hindustan Times.
“I raised an alarm and hung from the auto and cried for help. Some of the cars intercepted the auto and nabbed two of the accused and handed them over to the police,” Meena explained.
