After spending nine months in space, NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams have touched down on Earth and are still finding their footing on the blue planet, like literally. Williams, in her first social media post since her return, shared a heartwarming video of a long-awaited reunion with her beloved dogs. In a recent interview, she revealed what she missed the most during her time away: morning walks with her dogs.

The video was posted on X (formerly Twitter) just a few hours ago and has already racked up over 1.9 lakh views. Among those who reacted to the heartwarming clip was none other than Elon Musk, whose SpaceX, in collaboration with NASA, brought Williams and Wilmore back to Earth. Musk dropped a red heart emoji on her post.

It opens to show Williams stepping out of her house to meet her two Labrador retrievers, Gunner and Gorby. As she steps outside, both dogs excitedly rush towards her. While she pets one of them, the other runs away.

“Who is here? Gunner, get over here. Here’s my good boy,” she says, wrapping her arms around Gorby, while Gunner, overwhelmed with excitement, zips around in full zoomie mode. But he didn’t stop there. He picked up a stick in his mouth as a special welcome-home gift for his pet mom.

“Did you get any sticks? What are you doing? Are you showing off, boys?” Williams asks as she longs for one big, warm, tail-wagging hug from Gunner. But he keeps running, as if he wants Williams to chase after him.

“Gunner, are you giving me the cold shoulder?” Williams asks.

A few seconds later, Gorby, who had been soaking up all the hugs and kisses, runs away too. William then says, “And you too? You copycat?”

Towards the end of the video, she sits down on the floor and calls Gunner over, “Come here,” but he’s still too excited to stop.

“You are just too much,” she adds as she gets up from the floor.

“I got to come back home and see my dogs, who are waiting for me, so that was pretty special. It’s hard when you come,” Williams had said in an interview.
