Heavy rain brought the city of Hyderabad on its knees as waterlogged streets troubled commuters, leaving many stranded at various spots. The intense flow of water swept away two-wheelers. However, while people were finding it difficult to wade through the waters, an unexpected help came for them. The delivery people of Zomato and Swiggy.

A man took to X and shared the video of how the delivery agents of Swiggy and Zomato rushed to help him and many others despite torrential rain in the area. 

“Hey Zomato, Swiggy, just wanted to share that your riders not only delivered food during this deluge but also saved me and my bike from being swept away in the stormwater,” he said on X.

Delivery agents help people in Hyderabad

In the video, the delivery agents are seen rescuing a man and his bike stuck in the water. They pulled his bike, dragged it to safety to prevent him from getting swept in the heavy flowing stream. Others stopped seeing the rescue and did not cross the area.

“They did the same for hundreds of people like me trying to reach home at midnight in Hyderabad,” the user said in the post.

Netizens hail delivery agents: ‘Real heroes…’

The man’s X post has garnered 560.6k views by the time of filing this article, and netizens praised the effort of the delivery agents. 

One user commented, “Kudos to each one of them.” While another wrote, “Real (delivery) heroes don’t wear capes, they sometimes wear delivery uniforms. Thank God for such everyday heroes.”

Many even questioned the safety of people working as delivery agents and asked why people order during these times. “How can people order for online food in such situations? How will the delivery boy driver in such flood situations?” a user mentioned.
