Iconic dialogue of actor Om Puri from the film Lakshya is going viral after Pakistan violated the ceasefire hours after agreeing.
“Mujhe un logo ka tajurba hai, Pakistani haare to palat ke ek baar phir aata hai…agar jeet jao to fauran laparwah nahi ho jaana. Meri baat yaad rakhna,’ (“I have experience with these people; if Pakistan loses, it turns around and comes back again… if you win, don’t become careless immediately. Remember my words.”) an experienced Om Puri is heard telling Hrithik Roshun in the film.
To which he responds, ‘yaad rakhunga.’ (“I will remember”)
Even before Pakistan drones were spotted on Indian airbases, many X users had alerted, “Ceasefire is fine but never forget Om Puri’s words”
“That line wasn’t written for cinematic flair, it reflects the Indian Army’s deep understanding of Pakistan’s repeated betrayals. It likely came straight from the mindset within military circles. The Pakistani Army may have believed they could catch us off guard with this post-ceasefire attack, but they were mistaken. Our forces and systems were alert, and they are responding swiftly and effectively,” commented another X user.
To this, another user commented, “They did ceasefire but just within 4 hours Pakistan violated ceasefire & doing heavy firing in J&K. Now what India? Om Puri was always right about these.”
Just hours after India and Pakistan declared a ceasefire, multiple explosions and sirens were reported in Srinagar on Saturday night.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his surprise on social media, questioning the ceasefire’s status given the blasts heard across the city. These reports coincided with a high-level meeting convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attended by key figures including the External Affairs Minister, Defence Minister, National Security Advisor, Chief of Defence Staff, and the heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had announced the ceasefire on Truth Social, stating it was “full and immediate” and the result of talks mediated by the United States.
