Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has recently shared a heartfelt revelation about his relationship with his 11-year-old son, Zoravar. The cricketer opened up about the emotional distance he has experienced since his separation from his ex-wife, Ayesha Mukherjee, in October 2023.
According to Dhawan, it has been two years since he last saw his son, and one year since they last spoke. While the separation has been challenging, Dhawan remains focused on maintaining a connection with Zoravar through spirituality and love.
“It’s difficult, but you learn to live with it”
Dhawan admitted that the separation has been tough, acknowledging the emotional toll it has taken. However, he also emphasised that time helps one cope with such situations. “It has been difficult, but you learn to live with it,” Dhawan said in an interview with ANI.
Despite being blocked on his son’s communication platforms, Dhawan still sends messages every few days, hoping his son receives them, even if he doesn’t read them. “I don’t expect him to read them. It’s my job to reach out, and I will keep doing it,” he stated.
In an emotional twist, Dhawan revealed that he turns to spirituality to maintain a bond with his son. He explained that although they have not spoken in person for a long time, he continues to converse with Zoravar through affirmations and spiritual energy. “I speak to him spiritually… I feel through affirmations that I am conversing with him every day, hugging him,” Dhawan shared. For the cricketer, these spiritual practices are the only way to keep the connection alive.

While Dhawan navigates his personal challenges, his personal life continues to make headlines. The cricketer was recently spotted with a mystery woman at the India vs. Bangladesh ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai. The woman, identified as Sophie Shine, has fuelled rumors of a budding relationship between the two. This follows earlier reports of Dhawan being seen with Sophie in November 2024, leading to widespread speculation about their relationship. Although Dhawan has not officially confirmed his relationship status, the viral photos and videos have sparked significant public interest.
