The curtain seem to be rising for wanted billionaires Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya who were seen at a lavish party in London together. A video posted on Lalit Modi’s official social media handle went viral where the two can be seen dancing and singing Frank Sinatra’s “I did it My Way”.

Calling it his “annual summer party”, in attendance was retired West Indies cricketer Chirs Gayle dancing alongside former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner and airline tycoon Vijay Mallya. Hosted at Lalit Modi’s resident in UK, the gathering had over 300 people including guests who flew in internationally.

“Had an amazing night with 310 friends and family a lot who travelled specially for this event thank you to one and all who attended this evening and made it one of the most special night for me,” the video was captioned.

“Hope this video does not break the internet. Controversial for sure. But that what I do best,” said Lalit Modi at the end. The post also thanked musician Carlton Braganza who set up the karaoke and paid tribute to Gayle with his signature name “Universe Boss”.

Vijay Mallya’s latest appearance

“Fugitive” liquor baron Vijay Mallya reignited speculation about a possible return to India after appearing on a podcast hosted by Raj Shamani. Mallya, who fled India in 2016 and has been accused of defaulting on loans worth over Rs 9,000 crore, said he missed his homeland and the people, sparking strong reactions online.

In the podcast, he also defended his lifestyle and business decisions, claiming he never intended to defraud anyone and that his wealth was often exaggerated by the media. Netizens, however, were quick to criticise his remarks, calling out the timing of his statements and questioning his sincerity. Many users on social media dismissed the podcast as a PR exercise aimed at softening his image. Despite the buzz, there has been no official confirmation regarding any legal developments or return plans. Mallya remains in the UK, fighting extradition to India and lately, partying with fellow-fugitive Lalit Modi.
