A shocking case of expired paneer delivery in Gurugram has led the Food Safety Department to raid a Blinkit store located behind ROF Mall in Sector 43. The action was taken after a Sushant Lok-1 resident complained that he received rotten paneer twice through the delivery platform, according to a Times of India report.

The resident said that his family ordered paneer through Blinkit on Wednesday. “The paneer we received had a bad smell. We complained and replaced the order, but even the second packet was expired and rotten,” he told TOI. When he visited the store to raise the issue, staff admitted their mistake, but the store manager allegedly behaved rudely. The resident added that he has kept the expired paneer and recorded a video as proof.

Food safety team raids store

After receiving the complaint, food safety officials raided the Blinkit store and collected samples of paneer, kesar peda, milk cake and toned milk for laboratory tests. Officials said that action will be taken based on the test results under the Food Safety and Standards Act.

“Necessary steps will be taken once the reports are out,” an officer said.

Food inspections intensify across Gurugram before Diwali

The raid is part of a larger food inspection drive happening across Gurugram ahead of Diwali. The Food Safety Department has increased checks, especially in areas like DLF Nathupur and DLF Phase 3, to make sure all food outlets follow hygiene rules.

Recently, raids were also conducted at two sweet shops – Balaji Aggarwal Sweet and Snack’s Corner in DLF Phase 3. Samples of sweets like Moti Chur Ladoo, Khoya Burfi, Dhodha Burfi, Rabri and Kesar Peda were seized and sent for testing.

Officials advise consumers to be cautious when ordering online

As the festive season boosts demand for dairy and sweet products, officials have urged consumers to carefully check expiry dates, packaging and labels before consuming food delivered through online platforms.

Authorities said that strict inspections will continue throughout the festive period to ensure that only fresh and safe food products reach customers’ homes.
