YouTuber Divya Gandotra Tandon recently shared a troubling experience involving a hotel booking scam through MakeMyTrip (MMT). Upon arriving in Gwalior, she discovered that the hotel her family had booked didn’t exist. Locals confirmed that the listing was a scam.

Attempting to resolve the issue, Tandon called the contact number provided on MMT and Google Maps. However, the call redirected her to OYO customer care. Surprisingly, OYO representatives refused to connect her to the actual property, deepening the confusion and frustration.

Initial denial of refund

To her dismay, MMT initially refused to process a refund for the non-existent booking. Expressing her frustration, Tandon posted on social media, questioning the credibility of such platforms and seeking an explanation from MMT.

Following her public appeal, MMT responded and provided a resolution. Tandon later updated her followers, saying, “Just got in touch with the @makemytrip team. Glad they understood the situation and provided a resolution on priority. I hope this won’t happen again, and they ensure safe & reliable bookings in the future. Thank you!”

MMT responds

MMT acknowledged the issue and responded, “You’re welcome. We are glad we were able to resolve your query. For any future assistance, we are just a DM or WhatsApp away. -Kaushik.”
