Bengaluru’s traffic is infamous for its unpredictability. One day it’s an endless sea of honking vehicles and the next, a unicyclist casually glides past in peak-hour chaos. Yes, you read that right. A viral video of a man skillfully navigating Outer Ring Road (ORR) on a single wheel has sent social media into a frenzy.
Posted by the Instagram account Bengaluru Visuals, the clip showcases the unicyclist, helmeted and backpack-clad, effortlessly weaving through traffic. The caption playfully ponders, “Is this the future of Bengaluru commutes or just next-level risky?” The internet, as always, had thoughts.
“Bangalore is not for beginners,” quipped one user. Another warned, “One unclosed manhole and we have another episode of Heegu Unte.” Others drew global comparisons: “In his mind, he’s in the US or Europe, but one small pothole will bring him right back to Namma Bengaluru.”
While some admired his balance, others pointed out the obvious dangers. Bengaluru’s infamous potholes and unpredictable road conditions hardly make for an ideal unicycle route.
This isn’t the first time ORR has witnessed quirky commuting choices. Recently, a commuter named Pathik booked a ride on cargo transporter app Porter after being unable to find an Ola or Uber. His story, too, went viral, proving that in Bengaluru, necessity truly is the mother of innovation—or at least, creative transport solutions.
So, is the unicyclist a daredevil thrill-seeker or just another Bengalurean fed up with traffic? Either way, he’s given the city something new to talk about.
