A gut-wrenching moment has been recorded on camera following a cloudburst in Uttarkashi incident yesterday, August 5. The video, which is all over social media, has been sending chills down people’s spines.
‘Aadmi hai isme!’
The video opens to show flash floods raging through Uttarakhand’s Dharali. As the video goes on, one of the men recording the video can be heard speaking to another about a vehicle being swept away in the current
“Dekho bhaiya wo gaadi aage ja rahi hai. Isme aadmi hai yaar [Look, brother, that car is going ahead. There’s someone inside],” a man can be heard saying with alarm in his video.
He then asks again, “Isme aadmi hai kya [Is someone inside]?” To which, another person responds, “Haan, gaadi hai [Yes, it’s the car].”
The camera then pans to show a car being dragged downstream by the floodwaters.
“Wo dekho aadmi poora bhara hua hai usme [Look, it’s filled with people],” one of the men exclaims in panic. The other, clearly shaken, asks again if someone is really inside. The first man confirms it.
The video ends with the car being swept away.

Flash floods in Uttarakhand
A cloudburst in Uttarakhand has led to flash floods in the high-altitude villages of Dharali in Uttarkashi district on Tuesday, with several houses being damaged or swept away in the raging waters. The cloudburst took place in the catchment area of the Kheer Ganga river, leading to devastating floods. The Rescue operations are ongoing at the Uttarkashi cloudburst site involving ITBP, SDRF, NDRF, and BRO teams. According to the official, 150 people have been rescued so far.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a disaster management meeting at the State Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to assess the situation earlier today. PM Narendra Modi spoke to CM Dhami over the phone and inquired about the situation and status of the relief and rescue operations in Uttarkashi district.
Dhami also visited the Joshiyada helipad in Uttarkashi and assessed the areas affected by the recent cloudburst. He conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas to review the damage and ongoing relief efforts. Rescue and relief operations are underway with full support from the state and central governments.
