A 13-year-old boy from Afghanistan caused quite a stir at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after he managed to reach India by hiding in the landing gear of a Kam Air flight. The boy, who was from Kunduz city, told authorities that his unusual journey was driven by curiosity.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning when KAM Airlines flight RQ-4401 landed in Delhi after a two-hour journey from Kabul. Around 11 am on September 21, airline staff noticed a young boy roaming near the aircraft after it touched down. He was immediately taken into custody and handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for questioning at Terminal 3.

Boy sneaks into plane out of curiosity

During questioning, the boy revealed that he had sneaked into Kabul airport and somehow climbed into the rear central landing gear compartment of the plane, a report by NDTV said. He admitted that he did it purely out of curiosity. While officials were initially alarmed, they found no signs of foul play or dangerous intent.

A small red-colored speaker, apparently belonging to the boy, was discovered in the landing gear compartment during a security check by KAM Airlines personnel. The plane underwent a full inspection and anti-sabotage checks to ensure it was safe for further operations. Once confirmed, the aircraft was cleared.

Boy sent back to Afghanistan

After questioning, the 13-year-old was sent back to Afghanistan on the same flight around 12:30 pm. Authorities said that the boy was unharmed during the unusual journey and that the incident was treated as a serious security breach.
