Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz returns to Centre Court today as Wimbledon’s third round gets underway. The Spanish superstar, chasing his third consecutive Wimbledon crown, has looked in formidable form so far, brushing aside British qualifier Oliver Tarvet in straight sets in his previous match. Alcaraz’s quest for history continues as he faces Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff, aiming to extend his 16-match winning streak at the All England Club and move one step closer to joining the elite ranks of three-time consecutive champions.

Women’s draw: Sabalenka, Raducanu and Osaka take centre stage

The women’s singles tournament has been rocked by early upsets, with top seeds Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, and Qinwen Zheng all eliminated in the opening rounds. This leaves Aryna Sabalenka as the highest-ranked player left in the draw.

Sabalenka, who has reached the finals at the last three Grand Slams, faces a blockbuster third-round clash against Britain’s own Emma Raducanu in the final match on Centre Court today. Raducanu, fresh off a stunning win over 2023 champion Marketa Vondrousova, will have the home crowd firmly behind her as she attempts to pull off another upset against the tournament favorite.

Naomi Osaka is also in action, taking on Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the third round. Osaka has advanced with straight-set wins in her earlier matches and is looking to reach the second week at Wimbledon for the first time in her career. Her power-packed game and recent resurgence make her a player to watch as the tournament progresses
