IPL 2025 Final RCB vs PBKS: The much-anticipated IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings, set to be played on June 3 (today) in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, faces a looming threat of rains. Weather forecasts by AccuWeather predict evening thunderstorms, raising concerns that rain may disrupt what promises to be an epic clash.
Both RCB and PBKS are chasing their maiden IPL title. RCB, who booked their final berth with a rather smooth eight-wicket win over PBKS earlier in the tournament, has the edge. However, Punjab Kings bounced back strongly with a commanding win over Mumbai Indians in the May 1st match. Skipper Shreyas Iyer’s innings in the game was one for ages.
What happens if it rains for sometime?
With the potential for drizzle or thunderstorms, fans and players alike are hoping the rain stays away long enough to decide a winner on the field. The match officials are however prepared for delays, with up to 120 minutes of extra time allocated to complete the match if rain intervenes.
What happens if the IPL final match is washed out?
Should the weather wash out play on June 3 entirely, there is a reserve day scheduled for June 4. But if the rains have their way even then, IPL 2025 will crown its champion based on league stage standings.
And that will give Punjab Kings the edge. The team has topped the points table with nine wins from 14 matches. If both the days are washed out, Shreyas Iyer and Co. will be crowned champions of the season.
