Vijay Hazare HIGHLIGHTS: The Vijay Hazare Trophy resumed on Friday with a full slate of Round 2 fixtures across the country, and once again, India’s biggest batting names dominated the narrative. Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma were back in action for Delhi and Mumbai respectively, keeping fan interest firmly locked on a domestic tournament that had already delivered record-breaking performances in its opening round. However, Rohit departed early in the first over of the Mumbai vs Uttarakhand fixture.
After a day’s gap, all four elite groups and the plate group return to the field with 19 matches played simultaneously. From Ahmedabad and Rajkot to Jaipur, Alur and Bengaluru, the competition was spread far and wide- even though the spotlight remained tightly fixed on just a handful of grounds.

Virat Kohli’s long-awaited return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy continued earlier this week and in Round 2 he scored 77. Delhi faced Gujarat at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and Kohli’s side clinched a thriller by 7 runs.
Gujarat arrived with confidence after bowling out Services cheaply in their opening match but once Kohli got going, Gujarat were on the backfoot. Post his dismissal Gujarat did make a comeback, keeping them down to 254/9. In response they were 121/1 at one stage before being bowled out for 247.
Mumbai vs Uttarakhand: Rohit fails against Uttarakhand in Jaipur
In Jaipur, Rohit Sharma was playing for Mumbai against Uttarakhand. Mumbai began their campaign with a dominant win over Sikkim, underlining their status as one of the strongest sides in the competition.
Rohit’s presence continues to draw rare domestic crowds and Jaipur once again witnessed strong attendance even though he fell for a duck. Mumbai recovered and posted a formidable 331/7. Uttarakhand were never truly in the game, managing 280/9 in their quota of 50 overs.
