India’s performance in the U-19 Asia Cup so far

Since the inception of the tournament in 1989, India has been the most successful team in the history of the ACC U19 Asia Cup with 8 titles to its name.

With the inclusion of power hitters like Suyavanshi in the team and some smart, wicket-keeping options, India presents a well-balanced squad. With a greater number of all-rounders in the team and more variations at their disposal, India can mount a serious title challenge against Bangladesh, the defending champions.

The Indian under-19 team lost the last two consecutive finals to Bangladesh in 2023 and 2024.

The announcement comes a week after India A bowed out of the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 cricket tournament in the semi-finals after a loss against Bangladesh A in a super over, where both batters, including captain Jitesh sharma had gone out for 0 runs in the final over for the Indian side.
