Team effort from the Batting Unit
Captain Rohit Sharma provided a dynamic start to the team with a quickfire 47 off just 29 balls, attacking the Kiwi bowlers right from the very first over. Shubman Gill continued his form in 2023 with a solid half-century, only to leave the ground retired due to cramps, Virat Kohli played the anchoring role and scored his 50th ODI century, breaching the record of Sachin Tendulkar’s most individual ODI centuries.
Shreyas Iyer also struck 105 runs off just 70 balls, scoring consecutive centuries and utilising his form to the best. India will now play the final on November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, against the winner of the 2nd semi-final between Australia and South Africa.
