Indian para archers Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar won a bronze medal in the mixed compound archery event at the Paris Paralympics 2024, showing great skill and determination.

In a closely contested match, they triumphed over Italy’s Eleonora Sarti and Matteo Bonacina, adding a prestigious Paralympic medal to their achievements.

Rakesh Kumar, a seasoned archer, has had an impressive career, including winning a gold medal alongside Sheetal Devi in the mixed compound team event at the 2023 Para Asian Games. He also earned a silver medal in the men’s compound individual and men’s doubles compound events at the same games.

Despite their strong performances in team events, both Rakesh and Sheetal faced tough competition in their individual events at the Paralympics this year, where they were unable to secure a medal.
